taskbar shuffleWindows only: In addition to reordering your Windows taskbar items, previously
mentioned
Taskbar Shuffle can now reorder your system tray icons as well. As
much as I liked previous versions of Taskbar Shuffle, its footprint always
seemed a little too big to gain startup privileges. After taking a look at the
latest, though—which includes taskbar reordering, system tray reordering (by
holding Ctrl while dragging), and middle-click window button closing—Taskbar
Shuffle has more than proved itself worth the 6MB memory footprint its uses. If
you’re obsessive about organizing your taskbar, the free, Windows-only Taskbar
Shuffle is a must-have.

your local hard drive — it can also be used to analyze folders over FTP and
Windows shares. Baobab is a free download for Linux only and can be installed

Featured Windows Download: Manage Hyperlinks with the Word Hyperlink Checker

Manage Hyperlinks with the Word Hyperlink Checker

link checker Microsoft hyperlink checker

Windows only: Freeware Microsoft Word add-in Word Hyperlink Checker
manages hyperlinks in Word documents and checks for suspicious or
broken links. While the internet has progressively become a more viable
source of cited information in documents, Word doesn’t manage links all
that well by default. The add-in scans your document for links that
appear broken or “suspicious” (it’s unclear what that entails), then
aggregates and marks them as suspicious. Word Hyperlink Checker is a
free download, Windows only, Word 2000 and up.

Download of the Day: FileMenu Tools (Windows)

Download of the Day: FileMenu Tools (Windows)

filemenu%20tools Filemenu for your right clicking pleasure

Windows only: Freeware app FileMenu Tools lets you customize the Windows right-click context menu.

For starters, with FileMenu Tools you can customize the Send To menu,
which can come in really handy if you’ve got a go-to folder you need
quick access to. Beyond that, it allows you to define all kinds of
custom menus depending on what sort of object you right-click on. In
addition to the plentiful customization, FileMenu Tools also comes with
several built-in commands you can add to the right-click menu, like run Command Line From Here, Move To, Copy To, Copy Path, and a whole lot more.

As
you can see, FileMenu Tools rolls several simple utilities we’ve posted
about before into one nice package. Add to that the ability to create
your own custom commands (your imagination is the limit, really), and
this freeware, Windows-only tool looks pretty good.
