Today is Chrysler dealers day or reckoning.

Today is Chrysler dealers day or reckoning.

From the humbe beginnings in 1925 when the company organized them selves to call the self Chrysler comes a shock wave today.  Today 05/14/2009 Chrysler notified thier deals who would be the almost 800 dealerships to close.  This is a little more than a job loss.  This is many salespeople, service people, managers and owners that havebeen working, selling and repairing vehicles for years that have encountered an ubrupt hault on how they havebeen supporting themselfs and countless family memebers for over 75 years.    Here is the list of dealers  -> Chrysler Dealership Hit List

868ba hill car1a By The Numbers: May 2007General Motors continues its turnaround by posting a 4.7% increase in sales last month versus last year, bolstered mostly by the 68.6% increase at Saturn and a strong showing from GMC (8.6%) and Pontiac (13.7%). Likewise, Toyota contiues its positive growth with an increase of 10.9% for the brand and 9.7% for the company including Lexus. The gain by Toyota put it ahead of Ford as the No. 2 best-selling automaker in the U.S. last month. Ford, meanwhile, saw sales dip by 10.4%, which it claims is due to an ongoing effort to reduce fleet sales. It claims retail sales were nearly flat, helped by the Edge, new Escape and Expedition, among others. The Chrysler Group, meanwhile, remained flat, despite the monster effort by Jeep, which saw sales of the Wrangler increase by 106%!

The rest of the industry’s performance by brand can be found after the jump.

616b6 hill car1a By the Numbers: 2006As promised, we bring you to the complete, unabridged sales figures for 2006. Unlike the numbers for the month of December, we’re seeing a lot of little red arrows down there. Still, many of these numbers were expected. General Motors and Ford Motor Company, for instance, were both down for the year, 8.4% and 7.57%, respectively. Toyota Motor Company, meanwhile, ended 2006 up 12.9%. We’ve heard those two sentences all year long, however, why should the annual numbers be any different?

Nevertheless, Ford still reigns supreme as the most beloved brand of 2006 in terms of sales, racking up 2.43 mil sales last year. Chevy came in a very close second selling 2.41 million vehicles, with Toyota not far behind with 2.22 million sales.

Though HUMMER had the biggest sales increase of the year with a 24% jump thanks to the H3, our biggest mad props have to go out to Suzuki, the plucky Japanese automaker that made its goal of 100,000 unit sales in 2006 with 990 units to spare.

c1c0e hill car1a By The Numbers: November 2006Sorry for the delay in getting to the numbers this month, but we spent all day Friday travelling back from the LA Auto Show when each automaker was releasing its results for November. The big news over which the mainstream media seems to be laboring is that Toyota Motor Company outsold Ford Motor Company last month. Not only that, but the Toyota brand also outsold Blue Oval badged vehicles and came within about a thousand units of outselling Chevrolet to nearly become the most popular auto brand in the U.S. for the month of November. Fortunately there were the same amount of selling days in November this year as there was last year, which means the percentage change in Daily Sales Rate equals the percentage change in the raw number of vehicles sold for the month. That means no manufacturer is able to emphasize whichever statistic casts it in a better light.

Other movers and shakers include Acura, up nearly 24% last month on the strong double launch of the new MDX and all-new RDX. Saturn was also up nearly 24% thanks to the Aura’s arrival on the scene. Suzuki had a strong month, up 12% and now within spitting distance of reaching its goal of selling 100,000 vehicles in the U.S. this year.

Toyota up big, Ford up a little while GM, Chrysler and Honda slip

99b9b hill car1a By The Numbers: September 2006 (The REAL numbers)Pardon the tardiness of this report, but most manufacturers decided to present their September sales figures in a misleading way by comparing the raw number of vehicles sold last month to those sold in September 2005. We prefer to compare the Daily Sales Rate, obtained by dividing the number of vehicles sold in a month by the number of selling days in that month. Since last month had 26 selling days and September of 2005 had 25, most automakers decided to mitigate their losses or pad their gains by taking advantage of that extra selling day in their comparisons. So it took us a little longer to go through and correct the data that was misleading, and indeed some positive performances fell into the red once corrected. Credit goes to General Motors, Toyota and a few others for not giving us more work to do and providing the Daily Sales Rate to begin with. So forget about the numbers you see plastered all over the internet and the news, these are the real numbers. So lets begin…

Toyota is officially on a tear. Its sales in the month of September rose 20.2% versus the same time last year. The Toyota division itself increased sales 21.3% last month to 197,250 units, firmly placing it ahead of Chevrolet for the month and not far behind the Ford brand.

Speaking of Ford, the Blue Oval has some good news finall thanks to a September that saw sales for the company rise a modest .66%. The Focus and Mustang had big gains and the Fusion triplets continue to sell well. What helped the most, however, was surprisingly strong performances from the Explorer, Expedition and F-Series, all of which were up last month. Aren’t these things supposed to be losing popularity?

General Motors and the Chrysler Group both took modest dips last month of 6.8% and 7.5%, respectively. However, it was Honda falling off 7.76% that was the big surprise. Apparently, the new Civic’s sheen is beginning to wear off and the Accord, as great a mid-size family sedan as it is, is beginning to look staid next to the new Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and Hyundai Sonata.

deb8a hill car1a By the Numbers: August 2006What a weird month. We were told a week or so ago that sales for the month of August might look artificially good compared to last year because of Hurricane Katrina’s negative impact on sales. Really, however, Katrina didn’t hit land until August 29th, so if next month is the greatest month ever for car sales, we’ll know why.

Still, credit goes to GM for breaking even in sales this month. Out of the General’s entire portfolio of brands sold in North America, only Buick, Isuzu and Pontiac were down. Meanwhile, Ford’s entire portfolio failed to exceed last August’s sales, missing the target by 11.6% as a group. Jaguar in particular was the Biggest Loser of the month, falling behind 35.3% compared to last August. Chrysler as a whole dropped 8% last month. The Chrysler brand, however, grew its sales 3% in August, which was completely mitigated by Dodge falling 15% behind its performance last year.

Perhaps the two biggest surprises were the weak performances of BMW and Honda. The BMW Group attracted 11% fewer sales this year than last. Honda and Acura both experienced a sales decline, as well, and managed to generate sales 6.7% fewer than this time last year.

The two big winners last month were most definitely Suzuki and Toyota. Suzuki has not only maintained, but increased the rate at which its sales are growing. In July its sales grew 13% and this month they went up by 16%. We see no reason why Suzuki wouldn’t reach its goal of 100,000 sales in the U.S. this year considering after eight months it has already sold 73,388 units. And finally we come to Toyota, which somehow managed to increase its August sales over last year by 13.6%, which is no small feat when as a brand you’re selling over 200,000 units every month.

And for those who are interested in these kinds of things, no, Toyota did not sell more than Ford in August. In fact, as a brand Ford sold for more than any other on the market last month. Toyota did, however, come within 2,000 units of selling more than Chevrolet last month, which likely would have made as big a story as Toyota outselling Ford last month.

Editors note: most percentages are reported as the change in daily sales rate (DSR) since there were 27 selling days in August 2006 versus 26 selling days in August 2005. We found many automakers had averaged out the amount of vehicles sold per day in July of both years and used that figure to calculate the percentage of loss or gain year-over-year.

d9c6e hill car1a By the Numbers: July 2006The numbers for July have rolled in and we bet most manufacturers wish they would roll right back out. Of the 34 brands that have reported their July sales so far, 22 are reporting a drop in monthly sales versus the same period last year.

The Chrysler Group’s drop has attracted the most attention thus far, with each of the group’s three brands (Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep) reporting between a 34% and 35% drop in sales. The few bright spots Chrysler pointed out include the Chrysler 300 gaining 4% and the Dodge Charger jumping 53% in sales over last July. The newly arrived Jeep Compass wasn’t on lots long in July, but did manage to move 707 units.

The big theme of July’s sales figures is that truck and SUV sales are dragging down sales as a whole. Chevy’s passenger car sales were up 18.2% in July at 81,430 units, but the brand’s truck division fell 27.9% so that total sales were down 17.1%. While Ford’s passenger car sales were down only 5.6%, its truck and SUV sales fell 44.1%, producing brand-wide sales that were 35.7% below July 2005.

Of course, no one is surprised how harsh the hot summer month of July has been considering the successful sales incentives of last summer. Except, perhaps, the Chrysler Group, which was the only automaker to reinstate employee pricing again this summer yet still get whacked with a big drop in sales. Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Co. and Honda America continue their aggressive grab for market share by posting a 16.21% and 10.2% rise in sales last month, respectively.

Big Winner:
Isuzu 34.2%

Big Loser:
Saab -41.2%

Virtual Desktop manager for Vista

More
Screenshots

Introduction

Vista provides developers with the new DWM based aero
interface. A new set of thumbnail API’s can be used to access some of this new
technology. This virtual desktop program takes advantage of this new API and
uses some tricks of its own to provide a powerful virtual desktop manager with a
full screen thumbnail based preview. You can have as many desktops as you want
and can seamlessly switch between them.

But wait! What if you still are
using XP? Don’t worry, Vista/XP Virtual Desktops provides support for XP as
well, although window previews are not live since XP doesn’t have
DWM.

Vista Virtual Desktops is managed by Z-Systems.
The Z-Systems website also has a Vista Virtual Desktop page.
